Roadwork and Infrastructure Advisories

The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) and Multnomah County have issued several alerts regarding active construction projects starting or continuing today, Sunday, March 8, 2026:

  • NE Glisan Street Maintenance: Major excavation work is underway on NE Glisan Street between NE 82nd and 92nd avenues. Travelers should be aware that NE 84th Avenue at NE Glisan is currently blocked to vehicles and pedestrians to allow for the installation of ADA-compliant curb ramps and stormwater infrastructure.
  • NE 223rd Avenue Safe Routes: Beginning today and continuing through March 14, utility relocation work is scheduled along NE 223rd Avenue from NE Halsey Street to Fairview Elementary. Flaggers will be present to direct traffic, and minor delays are expected due to intermittent lane closures.
  • 257th Avenue Safety Improvements: Concrete repair work on sidewalk panels and sign adjustments are active this week along the 257th Avenue corridor. Pedestrians and drivers are advised to follow all posted traffic control signs.

Public Health and Safety Reminders

The Oregon Health Authority (OHA) continues to advise Portland residents to maintain up-to-date vaccinations for the 2026 season. Current advisories emphasize the importance of influenza, COVID-19, and RSV vaccinations, particularly for high-risk individuals and those living in congregate settings. Furthermore, PBOT is reminding the public that it is currently seeking feedback on proposed updates to administrative rules regarding automated vehicles and street closures. Public comments for these rules will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on March 20, 2026. Residents can submit their testimony via email to the bureau's policy office.
