East Portland enforcement operation leads to arrest of suspected dealer; fentanyl, meth, firearm and fraud tools seized

Arrest follows targeted patrols near Northeast 122nd Avenue and Glisan Street

A coordinated enforcement operation in East Portland led to the arrest of a suspected street-level drug trafficker and the seizure of fentanyl, methamphetamine, a firearm and suspected identity-fraud equipment, police said.

The operation took place the morning of Tuesday, February 24, 2026, in the area of Northeast 122nd Avenue and Northeast Glisan Street. Officers assigned to the East Precinct focused on what police described as persistent open-air drug activity and ongoing community complaints tied to narcotics trafficking and associated criminal behavior.

From observed transactions to an arrest at Hazel Heights

Investigators said officers observed suspected drug transactions during the operation and relayed information to uniformed personnel, who carried out enforcement actions. Police said the activity developed into intelligence pointing to a suspect wanted on multiple felony warrants.

The suspect was taken into custody at the Hazel Heights apartments in the 12600 block of Southeast Stark Street. Police said fentanyl and a substantial amount of cash were recovered at the time of arrest. Investigators then obtained a court-authorized search warrant for the suspect’s residence.

What investigators say was seized

During the subsequent search, police reported seizing a mix of narcotics, a gun and items they said were used for both drug distribution and identity-related crimes. The reported seizures included:

  • Approximately 57 grams of fentanyl
  • Approximately 1 gram of methamphetamine
  • Approximately 29 grams of psilocybin mushrooms
  • 27 suspected counterfeit “Xanax” pills
  • A firearm and ammunition
  • Multiple stolen identification cards
  • A commercial-grade ID printer
  • Multiple stolen checks
  • A manipulated or stolen passport
  • Drug distribution materials, including scales, packaging materials and a money counter

Charges filed; potential for federal review

Police said the suspect was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center. The person has not been publicly identified, with police citing investigative reasons. The listed charges include unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, felony possession of fentanyl, aggravated identity theft, felon in possession of a firearm, and multiple outstanding felony warrants.

Investigators said the presence of a firearm, the quantity of narcotics and the suspect’s criminal history could lead to the case being reviewed for potential federal prosecution.

The case remains under investigation.
