Investigation centers on late-night stabbing near Northwest 13th Avenue and Hoyt Street

Portland police have released surveillance images of a person they believe may be connected to a stabbing that injured a woman in the Pearl District late last month, and detectives are asking the public for help identifying the suspect.

The incident occurred at about 11:40 p.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2025, near Northwest 13th Avenue and Northwest Hoyt Street. Officers assigned to Central Precinct and the bureau’s Entertainment Detail responded to a report of a stabbing. When officers arrived with emergency medical personnel, they found an adult woman with an apparent stab wound to her torso.

Police said the victim was transported to a hospital, treated and later released. No information about her identity, age, or current condition beyond her release from the hospital has been made public. Suspect left before officers arrived; Major Crimes Unit now leading the case

Police said the suspect left the area before officers arrived, and no immediate arrests were made. The Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation and obtained images of the suspect from a surveillance system. The released photographs show a person walking in what appears to be a public space at night; additional identifying details have not been disclosed.
