Arrest follows digital forensics investigation by child abuse and cybercrime detectives
A 26-year-old Portland man was arrested on January 16, 2026, and booked into custody on 385 felony charges after investigators said a digital forensics investigation uncovered hidden-camera recordings made in private spaces and additional child sexual abuse material found on a personal phone.
The suspect, identified by police as Fonte T. Gladen, was taken into custody around 9 a.m. Friday. Investigators described the case as an ongoing child sexual exploitation investigation led by detectives assigned to child abuse and Internet Crimes Against Children work.
What investigators say they found
Police said digital devices associated with the suspect contained images and videos depicting children and adults in bedrooms and bathrooms inside a private residence. Investigators said the recordings were made without the knowledge or consent of those recorded and used hidden cameras disguised as everyday items, including devices concealed in cell phone power adapters and external battery packs.
Detectives said the investigation identified six minor children and five adults depicted in the recordings. Police also said they located additional child sexual abuse material on a personal cell phone, along with evidence indicating the material had been received and distributed through online platforms.
Investigators said the recordings were made inside private residences of people known to the suspect. Police said they do not believe there are additional victims at this time, while emphasizing the investigation remains active.

- 93 counts of Invasion of Personal Privacy in the First Degree
- 86 counts of Encouraging Child Sexual Abuse in the First Degree

How authorities are advising residents to respond to suspected hidden cameras
In a public safety advisory accompanying the arrest announcement, police warned that hidden cameras can be concealed in common household objects and placed in private areas such as bedrooms and bathrooms. The guidance urged residents to look for unfamiliar or out-of-place objects, electronics plugged in where power is not normally needed, or items positioned toward beds or bathroom areas.
Police advised that if a hidden camera is discovered or suspected, people should avoid touching the device, document it if possible, move children to a safe area, and contact law enforcement.
What happens next
Police said no further details are being released at this time to protect the privacy of victims. Investigators asked anyone who believes they may have been recorded or who has related information to contact law enforcement and reference the case number.
