Official Public Notices and Health Advisories

The City of Portland has issued the following official notices for Tuesday, February 3, 2026. These announcements cover public committee meetings, regulatory updates, and critical deadlines for land-use appeals and appointments.

Public Meetings and Hearings

  • Structural Engineering Advisory Committee: A public meeting is scheduled for today, Tuesday, February 3, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. This meeting will be held virtually and is open to the public. The committee will review current structural engineering standards and advisory items related to new development within the city.
  • Land Use Appeal Deadline: Notice is hereby given that the deadline to file an appeal with the Land Use Board of Appeals (LUBA) regarding the decision for Case LU 25-096793 HR at 2226 SW Main St is today, February 3, 2026, at 4:30 pm. Interested parties must submit all documentation by this time certain.

Bureau of Transportation and Public Safety

The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) continues to enforce updated standards for private for-hire transportation and towing services. As of February 2026, PBOT is actively monitoring ride times for wheelchair-accessible vehicles to ensure equitable access citywide. Residents are reminded that regulated towing rates apply for all vehicles removed from the public right-of-way. These standards are designed to protect consumers from predatory practices and ensure safety for all passengers using taxi or app-based ride services. PBOT employees are currently performing background checks for over 12,000 drivers as part of these safety measures.

Water Bureau Infrastructure Impacts

The Bull Run Filtration project is entering a high-activity phase. Commuters should be aware of significant traffic restrictions on Lusted Road between Altman Road and Hosner Road. These closures, categorized as "local access only," are expected to remain in place through April 26, 2026. Through traffic is advised to use detour routes via Altman Road or Hosner Road. Construction crews are currently working between the hours of 7:00 am and 6:00 pm, Monday through Saturday. Residents within the work zone will maintain access from the west. This project is vital for meeting federal and state drinking water regulations by 2027.

Upcoming City Council Business

While the City Council does not hold a regular session today, the agenda has been published for the upcoming February 4-5 meetings. Key items include a second reading of an ordinance to establish a new City Data and Privacy Office and a resolution to allocate approximately $20.7 million in unspent Rental Services Office funds toward housing priorities. The Council will also consider the formal appointment of new members to the Building Code Board of Appeal for terms effective through February 3, 2029.
