Man arrested after reported drive-by shooting in Ardenwald-Johnson Creek; gun recovered at Southeast Portland gym

A 19-year-old Portland man was arrested Monday after police said he was linked to a reported drive-by shooting in Southeast Portland’s Ardenwald-Johnson Creek area. Officers responded at about 11:20 a.m. to a call reporting gunfire near the intersection of SE Van Water Street and SE 36th Avenue.
Police said the person who reported the incident told officers their vehicle was struck by gunfire and provided a description of the suspect vehicle. No injuries were reported in connection with the shooting.
Suspect vehicle tracked to a 24 Hour Fitness on SE McLoughlin Boulevard
Investigators located the suspect vehicle near a 24 Hour Fitness at 4546 SE McLoughlin Boulevard. Witnesses told police the man entered the gym, discarded items, and then left the building.
Officers searched the gym and recovered a firearm inside, which was seized as evidence. Police arrested the suspect after he exited the facility.
Charges include attempted murder and multiple firearm-related counts
Police identified the arrested suspect as Kordayle ReLa Dorley, 19, of Portland. Authorities said Dorley was booked on allegations that include attempted murder, first-degree attempted assault, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon, and unlawful discharge of a firearm.
The case remains under investigation. Police requested that anyone with information contact investigators and reference case number 26-46840.
